81% of Brazilians are more concerned about
sustainable environmental consumption.

According to a survey by the National Confederation of Industry (CNI), 81% of Brazilians adopt sustainable habits. This number represents an increase from the 74% who previously followed such practices.

This trend highlights consumers’ growing awareness of environmental issues and their preference for companies that produce or offer sustainable products.

The survey was conducted by the Institute for Research in Reputation and Image, part of FSB Holding, between November 18 and 21, 2023, with 2,021 respondents aged 16 and older.

Sustainable Practices Adopted by Brazilians

Increasing awareness has led to more positive societal changes. Today, many sustainable habits have become part of daily life in Brazil.

Some of the most notable practices include:

  • Reducing waste and reusing water
  • Avoiding food and energy waste
  • Separating and recycling trash
  • Reusing product packaging
  • Choosing packaging made from renewable, sustainable, and biodegradable sources
  • Encouraging businesses to invest in initiatives that reduce their environmental impact
  • Replacing plastic with paper whenever possible
